Light Installations

Tomáš Pekár and Rastislav Nemec created new artistic designs using a contemporary graphic language, addressing not only the artistic and historical legacy of the original works, but also offering their own perspective focused on the future. The light installations drew the attention of passers-by to the sgrafito decorations in the autumn of 2022.

We often stop noticing the exceptional quality of something we see every day, and a work of art simply becomes part of the scenery. That is why we decided to bring the sgrafitos of the Píly housing estate into the position they deserve — at the centre of attention and in the glow of spotlights. But it doesn’t end there.

Workshops for Children

In the summer of 2023, we organised a summer open-air series of 3 workshops for children called “Sorela Without Prejudice”. We introduced them to the artistic decorations of the Old Housing Estate (reliefs and sgrafitos) in a creative and experiential way. The original, authentic artworks embedded in the architecture became the main medium and inspiration — works that the children first got to know at our events and then explored and developed further. The result was their own small artworks — miniature reliefs and sgrafitos that the children created with their own hands, inspired by the visual experience and the walk through the housing estate. During one of the workshops, we even “brought to life” the reliefs at J. C. Hronský Square through a movement performance, during which participants simulated and re-enacted them. The workshop was led by Rastislav Nemec. The project was supported from public funds by the Arts Support Fund.

V spolupráci so súčasnými umelcami, ktorí sa inšpirovali tvorbou svojich predchodcov, sme pre vás pripravili jedinečný zážitok. Minulosť sa tu spája so súčasnosťou, statické obrazy ožívajú a vy máte možnosť byť pri tom už 14. septembra 2024!

Tento rok sme spojili sily s podujatím Brose Night Run a pripravili pre vás nezabudnuteľný večer, ktorý spojí históriu, umenie a šport v srdci Prievidze! Prievidzské sgrafitá sú výnimočné a iniciatíva NOVÉ SÍDLISKO posúva tieto umelecké diela na novú úroveň. Sgrafitá dostali novú vrstvu vďaka rozšírenej realite, ktorá ich oživuje a prepája statické obrazy s pohyblivými prvkami.

V rámci iniciatívy NOVÉ SÍDLISKO už tretí rok dokumentujeme a skúmame sgrafitá na sídlisku Píly a snažíme sa ich zachovať pre ďalšie generácie. Preto sme pre vás pripravili program, ktorý vám toto sídlisko a jeho výzdobu, čo najviac priblíži. Podujatie sa koná počas Brose Night Runu, ktorý nás zároveň podporil výťažkom z každej vstupenky jedno euro do Ars Preuge, vďaka čomu vám budeme môcť naďalej prinášať umenie v Prievidzi.

PROGRAM:

16:00 – Komentovaná prechádzka s odhalením živých sgrafít Zaregistrujte sa na www.novesidlisko.sk alebo cez email na info@arspreuge.sk. Miesto stretnutia: Bojnická cesta 23 (pri Septime).

18:00 – Vernisáž výstavy a diskusia s autormi živých sgrafít V kaviarni Nateeva (Björnsona 25) sa uskutoční výstava s autormi, ktorý pracovali na oživení sgrafít.

20:30 – Koncert autorov hudby k živým sgrafitám Nezmeškajte večerný koncert, kde zaznie hudba vytvorená špeciálne pre tento projekt.

Počas víkendu – Svetelné inštalácie na fasádach Zažite magickú atmosféru vďaka svetelným inštaláciám, ktoré rozžiaria fasády na Ul. M. R. Štefánika- na križovatkách s Ul. Chalupku a Björnsona.

19.09. 2024 o 16.00 – Otvorenie výstavy NOVÁ PRIEVIDZA: Najstaršie sídlisko v Prievidzi od plánov k realite. Výstavu organizuje Hornonitrianske múzeum Prievidza. Potrvá do 14.2.2025.

Nové sídlisko
Living Sgrafitos

Join us for a unique guided walk where, thanks to innovative augmented reality technology, the sgrafitos of Prievidza are transformed into living works of art. In collaboration with contemporary artists who drew inspiration from the work of their predecessors, we have prepared a one-of-a-kind experience for you. The past meets the present, static images come to life — and you have the chance to be there on 14 September 2024!
This year we joined forces with the Brose Night Run event and prepared an unforgettable evening that combines history, art and sport in the heart of Prievidza! The sgrafitos of Prievidza are exceptional, and the NOVÉ SÍDLISKO initiative takes these artworks to a new level. The sgrafitos have gained a new layer through augmented reality, which brings them to life and connects static images with animated elements.
As part of the NOVÉ SÍDLISKO initiative, we have now been documenting and researching the sgrafitos of the Píly housing estate for the third year, striving to preserve them for future generations. That is why we have prepared a programme that will bring you as close as possible to this housing estate and its decorations. The event takes place during the Brose Night Run, which also supports us with one euro from every ticket sold going to Ars Preuge — allowing us to continue bringing art to Prievidza.

PROGRAMME:

18:00 – Exhibition vernissage and discussion with the authors of the living sgrafitos. At Café Nateeva (Björnsona 25), an exhibition will take place with the artists who worked on bringing the sgrafitos to life.
20:30 – Concert by the authors of the music for the living sgrafitos. Don’t miss the evening concert featuring music created especially for this project.
During the weekend – Light installations on the façades. Experience a magical atmosphere thanks to light installations illuminating the façades on M. R. Štefánik Street — at the intersections with Chalupka Street and Björnsona Street.
19. 09. 2024 at 16:00 – Opening of the exhibition NOVÁ PRIEVIDZA: The Oldest Housing Estate in Prievidza — from Plans to Reality. The exhibition is organised by the Hornonitrianske Museum Prievidza. It runs until 14. 2. 2025.
